Here is my first box mod. It has a nice little tact switch on the back. It isn't the cleanest thing but it produces awesome vapor using 6v and 1000mah Duracell rechargeable NiMH batteries that can recharge in 15 min. I put a blue LED in it for when it is activated and of course I utilized the built in switch for the mains control. I used an old dead battery from a 901 and hot glued it in place. I am getting 6 full hours of vapor from this device and I am a very heavy vaporer. I only need to charge this device once a day. Let me know what you guys think!
Good job! I ve said this before but I am jealous of 15 min charge time! How thick is the box? Just wondering if theres enough room to try stickin a button on the inside....
I got the small tact switch hoping it would fit but it wont. It is a 1/2" thick and absolutely zero room for much of anything. All of the space that is available is taken up by the power coupler and the LED and of course wiring.
Oh I see, it def looks like a tight fit! Maybe... another tact switch with a long button. And to try putting it on the inside, so that longer button sticks out of the whole you made?.... Sry I just wont give up.... lol I was thinking about this switch http://www.madvapes.com/6mm-x-6mm-Tactile-Switch-with-85mm-actuator_p_2091.html
That thing's pulling about 1400mA of current and you recommend a 50mA switch? To the OP. A box like this would make life simple and you would have room for a real switch. http://www.batteryspace.com/battery...eltclipoutinoffpowerswitch-rohscompliant.aspx These switches are rated for 2A (2000mA). http://www.madvapes.com/Push-Button-Switch--Blue_p_2131.html
Well, the main reason that particular switch was recommended due to the problem of not being able to fit anything else..... NiMH in this case a good quality (better quality that the batts I have like ultrafire & tenergy) Also they use a smart charger... which is a way better and safer construction than lets say wf139. Anyway worst case the button will go out (which they all eventually do) and all you'll need to do is to replace it. The button will either make contact or not. Box got an on/off switch, so I'm sure it will be used since any button would of been stickin out. My point is, due to the size I used those switches before. Yes they are gonna be underrated for 4 1000mah batts, but they are not being used with crappy Lithium CR2s.
I have to say I agree with mitrich. The power output of a AAA NiMH is only 1.2 volts as well so I am not operating at that high of voltage. I would be more concerned with the type of switch if I were to try and make something salable. If it stops working I have 3 more of them if I so wish to use them.
A battery's mah rating is more about longevity between charges, and the real point is about ohm's law. I just measured the resistance of several atomizers, and on the average they measure about 3ohms. 4 AAA batteries at 1.5volts a piece is a total of 6volts. Ohms law states that 6volts divided by 3ohms is 2amps. A switch that is rated at 50ma is one fourth the amount of current it is going to see, and is just not going to cut it.
Here we go again.... lol I was not talking about Ohms Law, I was talking about that exact same switch "cutting it" while I used it.
