I made this out of a 9 LED flashlight just to see if I could do it. I did not install a switch, I'm just using the on/off switch the flashlight came with. After popping out the 9 LED component, all I needed to do was trim the bottom spring to fit the 18650 battery. I used a #0 screw that was 1/4" long as a post from the 510 connector to the top of the battery as the positive contact, then soldered a wire from the connector to the body of the flashlight as the ground. It is a blue flashlight body, so I sanded the blue off the inside of the body first and made my connection there. The top end cap is a washer and plastic bushing epoxied together. I'm not totally satisfied with it, but as a first try, it was relatively simple. Now I just need to remember to NOT leave it on when I'm done taking a pull off it!
I am not sure how but someone has told me that there is a way to pop something in most clicky on/off switches to make them monetary. Might wanna Google that.
Hey not bad DG, not bad at all bro!!!:clap2:All you gotta do now is search the Flashlight forums for info on how to modify those clicky switches.
Now if you had a 3 point switch (high/med/low) and used 2 x 16340s i wonder what the volt range would be....
PapaHoyt, I'll check into that, it would make it easier! JC_Hope, it's great! Just like my wife's HOG mod, it runs on a single 18650, great vapor production, and as of this morning it was running at 3.8 volts.
Always a nice sense of pride when you make something that works well. I am jealous of your guys crafty abilities.
