I detest cigarettes, so I try to get any smoker friends of mine to switch over. I largely prefer hookah, but e-cigs and vapes are totally acceptable by me and mine. The smell (or lack thereof) helps. I try to tell my cig friends that they can have the vape around them at all times (much like the cigarette) without having to throw packs away on the car floor/wherever. And that it saves money in the long run. Plus, no one asks you to go outside with those things. So, that's a plus. So far? Most of my friends have switched to part-time vaping or full-time. Although I'd be lying if I said they didn't break out a cig every so often.
I've only converted 1. And that one person is one the most important person in my life; my mom. She was a heavy smoker and when I introduced her to vaping she changed for good. I think she doesn't smoke anymore, she exclusively vapes. This makes me happy because not only it showed short-term positive things like her not having to use her bronchial inhaler anymore because she can breathe perfectly fine by herself; but also long-term benefits like reducing her chances of getting throat and lung cancer and other stuff. I'm really glad she started vaping.
I have told persons about it in Jamaica but they are not really educated about vaping. They also think that it is too expensive but I will keep trying.
Oh jeez @karimil I'm really shocked you think vaping costs more than cigs? I really think if you can get over just getting new gadgets it's so much cheaper if you are a daily nicotine user? I'll have to think more about your thread. I try to tell as many smokers as I can about vaping because it has done wonderful things for me and honestly I am uncomfortable hanging around cigarettes and the icky smell and smoke that makes me cough now that my lungs have healed so much. I know people that have been trapped in cigarette addictions for decades, anything they can do to improve their health is good by me and I will stand by vaping because I know my health has improved a LOT.
What, specifically, have you found to improve? I'm not coming out of cigarettes to vaping, so I can't personally compare.
Just 1, well still working on it, I myself, I'm still kinda new to vaping but one of my smoker friend recently bought a kit, he says it has helped him cut down how many cigarette he smokes but not entirely. So we are working on it
I was introduced and introduced a couple of friends. One weened off cigarettes AND vapes within 3 months, gave me a bunch of his liquid but it tastes like the inside of a hat so idgaf about that. Another of my friends vapes wimmeh regularly, so it's all gravy in this parade of ladies, babies, unstable savings and poorly planned daydreams edit: if i could like my own posts, i would like this post
My friend is kind of conservative. However, the smoke from his cigarettes started to worsen my breathing system. The main reason for his conversion was preserving the environment around him. Nowadays, he's using e-cigs. And if feels much better. No smoke. Just a pleasant flavor.
I converted two of my friends when I started out. The first guy bought an e-cig the day after I bought one, and the second guy bought it right after the first! They stopped smoking cigarettes for about three months, then they just returned to regular smoking. I rarely smoke more than a cigarette a week, but sometimes my battery dies and I really need to blow some smoke.
Recently find out that a guy I used to know better back in the day is now using vape. We had a small talk. He gave up smoking for vaping three months ago. Good on him. He was hesitant at first but eventually gave it a try. He enjoys the smell.
I usually do not even have to try to start a conversation regarding vaping. People always seem to be very interested in what I am doing and ask their own questions. I have gotten at least ten people to convert to vaping instead of cigarettes. I'm really very proud of that!
Did not really have any success so far. I am always telling them about the fact that vaping is healthier and cheaper then smoking, but they still stubbornly stick to their analogues, saying that the experience and taste is different. While I agree, I got to the point that I love vaping as much as I loved smoking, and I know that they could get to this point as well, given time.
I tried to convert my mom 2 years ago. Bought her one of the 2 pack fasttech eVod starter kits and some juice from a few vendors with a few nic strengths and flavor types. I wanted to keep it super simple since she's not "a techie person". I'm pretty sure she's never used it. I tried to tell her with vaping she can do it inside instead of going outside in the Alaskan cold but what do I know?
