Hello canukVaper BBM folks!! I have been working on this for some time now and thought it was time to let the rest of the vaping community see it!! This is just as the title states, an interest thread, if I have enough interest I will make them.

First of all I would like to start off with this:

Disclaimer

I am building an all brass hybrid, yes, an all brass hybrid!! The tube, connections, tank and cap will all be brass.

Since brass can sometimes be a controversial topic in itself, I would like to provide you with some information regarding the research that I have performed on this topic.

Having been a welder / machinist / fabricator for over 25 years, I have a lot of experiences and preferences surrounding metals.

First of all brass is only hazardous in its fume state, in order for brass to get to fume state, which is not reached until the metal is heated to 1800 degrees. Lets take a moment to look at our coil set-ups in our atomizers. I have personally tested the direct heat a typical coil reaches (during chain vaping), and experienced temperatures peaking under 400 degrees. This is nowhere near approaching any safety limits of brass, nor is the coil obviously even in direct contact with any brass itself. Even if it were, 400 degrees is a walk in the park for brass.

Lets also talk a bit about any potential leaching effects of the brass into our e-liquids. With gassing concerns out of the way, the next logical test is to ensure that no harmful chemicals or metals can leach into our e-liquid. To test for safety, I engaged a College Professor in the state of NM. What these tests have produced, boils down to this. A person could start seeing some side effects if that person would be vaping gallons of juice per day, on a daily basis. Symptoms would be flu like.

With that being said, and as with anything we are putting our bodies, cleanliness should be first and foremost!! The cleaner anything is, the better and less chance of any harmful effects. So cleaning should happen every week or so (no different from any other atomizer). Most of us like tinkering with our mods anyway and while changing flavors, wrapping a new coil, new wick setup, everything should get a good cleaning!!

I say all of that, to say this… My goal in bringing you this Hybrid is to bring something new and exciting to the market. Being a personal fan of brass (appearance, durability, and performance), I wanted to bring something unique into the marketplace. I have been using prototypes of my Hybrid for months and have gathered feedback from several other avid vapers as well to develop the best possible mod I can. My goal is to deliver sleek style, safety, and performance. I truly believe that you find the pinnacle of those attributes in my new Hybrid and look forward to sharing our combined experiences with it, and that any safety concerns that may exist, quickly subside.

Hey BigAli, the cap does not screw on. It does hold in place very well though!!

 

Hey mate you seem like the kinda guy that wants to strive for the best and I like that.

If the price is right for these I will definitely reconsider ordering the ngp.

I like the fact he uses gats as mod holders, if I get the chance I'll do the same with a F88 Styr,

I got a little over whelmed this past weekend with the copper mod order list. Anyway, I have ran into an issue for the materials for the brass hybrid. The cost of materials has gone up again, thanks to our president. So I am putting this project on the back burner while I am building this copper mod run. That will give me a little time at to find another company that will be cost effective to the end user.
