This mod has a AtMega328p micro-controller with a Nokia cell phone display. It is powered by a 20C Lithium-Polymer battery. The boost circuit is the good ole PTN04050C.
    Voltage Range: 3.78v to 6.38v

    PARTS:
    ATMega328p AVR
    Nokia Graphic Display
    PTN04050C
    20C lithium polymer 3.7 battery
    1 amp USB Charger
    100 Amp Sensor
    Parallel 5.1A PTC resetable fuses
    5A On/Off Slide Switch
    18 .comge wiring
Aluminum Enclosure (size of a pack of cigs)

    Maximum Results so far:
    22.78 Watts
    3.38 Amps
    6.3 Volts output

The PTN04050C is spec'd at 12 Watts, 2.4 Amps yet I was able to achieve the above results.
This mod is far superior to the DNA mod on output wattage and amperage.

nice work chief, looks like your electronic skills are progressing.
now you have tried 22W .. in all honesty do you think it has a use.
I toyed with the 20 to 50W range in experiments and decided it was mostly useless.
great for killing 510 attys in a split second though ;)
about 16W is the max i thought had any merit, kept burning my tongue on the higher stuff.

Thanks Stoney, it is useless but it was fun to do and knowing that this can kick ass.
I wouldn't dare connect an atty to it. Used a high wattage ceramic resistor for testing.
Most of the time I'm vaping at 5 to 7 watts.

Hi breaktru, how much trouble did you have soldering to the tabs on the Turnigy cell? Did you use special solder, or just the normal stuff? TIA

    Cheers,

Not much trouble. Clean tabs first with maybe an abrasive non-conductive scotch pad or fine sandpaper and use solder Flux. Obviously, don't use steel wool. Be careful not to short the opposite tab while soldering. Use standard solder.

    Latest maximum results:
    25.44 Watts
    4.67 Amps
Using a 1.2 ohm Ceramic resistor measuring 1.16 ohms
Not bad for a single battery and a PTN04050C

Ahhh I always chuckle at this ... How many people put their mobile phone or ipod in a lipo sack to charge ? LOL
The risk is always the same no matter what form the li-po is ... Granted it can be minimised further by protection circuitry attached , but the paranoia about li-po's remains .

( And yes I do have a lipo sack .. for charging my RC batts , but they get severly abused with discharge curves and loads nowhere near what an e-cig etc puts them thru )
I regularly pull 600Watts out of mine :D
